Hi Moms! If you’re looking for the easiest dessert in the entire universe, you have come to the right place. This is sure to make your kids sooooo happy, I know it did mine!
This “recipe” is an easy, inexpensive and very minimal effort sweet treat that is kid friendly. Best news of all, it’s only three ingredients. Everything can be purchased from one of our favorite mom stores, The Dollar Tree, or any other grocery store you have near.
Lets get started by gathering your ingredients. This recipe will make eight servings (Eight pudding dirt cake cups).
Dirt Cake Cup Ingredients:
- Two 4 Packs of Chocolate Pudding Snack Pack
- To King Size Rolls of Oreo Cookies (Roughly 15-20 cookies)
- Two 3.5 oz bags of gummy worms
Dirt Cake Cup Supplies:
- Ziploc Bag
- Rolling Pin (To crush the cookies)
Let’s Get Started!
Step One:
Put your Oreo cookies in a Ziploc bag and make sure to seal it closed all the way. Proceed to crush them with your rolling pin until they resemble a “dirt” like consistency. If you want your “dirt” really fine, more like sand consistency, then use a food processor.
I personally like the Ziploc bag method because well, less dishes, duh. We’re going for easy and simple around here!
Step Two:
Go ahead and open up all of your pudding cups.
Next, take your crushed up Oreo Cookies and evenly distribute them between your pudding cups by sprinkling them on top.
Step Three:
Lastly, open up those bags of gummy worms. Go ahead and sneak a few, I promise I won’t tell! You know you want to!
Now evenly distribute the gummy worms between the cookie topped pudding cups. I stress the word evenly because if your kids are anything like mine, they will be counting each gummy worm. Trust me, prevent an argument now.
Storage:
Not that these will last very long, they were gobbled up very quickly in my house… but if you need to store them, here is how I did it. Wrap the tops of the pudding cups carefully with plastic wrap and put in an airtight container to store in the fridge for up to a few days.
*Just a warning- the gummies do harden in the refrigerator, so just be cautious giving them to your kiddos until they soften.
Conclusion:
Dirt Cake Cups are a great treat for your kids that are easy and simple to put together. This is a recipe you can make for a large group or for a small group. It can be a prep ahead treat for a birthday party or gathering.
I really hope you enjoy this recipe idea and try it out!
Have fun creating!
